The federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and other federal laws require local education agencies (LEAs) to provided programs and services to schools based on the requirements specified in each of the authorizing statutes (ESEA and IDEA).
The New Jersey Department of Education visited University Heights Charter School in November 2012 to review the charter school's use of funds and implementation of programs under these statutes.
University Heights Charter School received the results of this visit in May 2013, which can be viewed below.
Within 30 days of receiving the report, the Board of Trustees reviewed its findings at its regularly scheduled public board meeting on June 19, 2013.
Within 30 days of reviewing the findings, the Board of Trustees approved the required corrective action plan at its regularly scheduled public board meeting on July 17, 2013.
This plan can be viewed below and was submitted to the NJDOE on July 19, 2013.
