ROLE OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS
TheBoard of Trustees believes that the education of children is a jointresponsibility, one it shares with the parents/guardians and the schoolcommunity. To ensure that the bestinterests of the child are served in this process, a strong program ofcommunication between home and school must be maintained and parentalinvolvement in school concerns encouraged.
TheBoard of Trustees recognizes the vital role of parents/guardians in the welfareand education of their children and the pivotal part they play in shapingcharacter and values. Becauseparents/guardians are familiar with the needs, problems, gifts and abilities oftheir children, staff should seek to involve parents/guardians as much aspossible in the planning of the individual program. Parents/guardians must, by law, be included in thedevelopment of certain educational programs for their children.
Parents/guardiansare requested to keep the school apprised of changes in factors in the homesituation that may affect pupil conduct or performance. Parents/guardians are specificallyrequested to inform the school of any changes in legal custody of the child.
